CLEAN IT ALL!

So, I've never hidden the fact that YES, I definitely am a bit of a clean freak and DUH...I naturally LOVE to organize and therefore BE ORGANIZED! 

This spills over in all areas of my life and today it reached the car! I have an obsession with keeping air filters clean because far too often they are overlooked and boy-oh-boy can those suckers not only make your home become dusty more quickly BUT also, increase your energy bill because your a/c system has to work twice as hard to push the air through the muck! Not to mention, it creates unhealthy air that you just shouldn't breathe. 

How did we end up back in the house? Okay, let's get back to the vehicle! Some or maybe even many of you, don't realize that their are TWO air filters within your vehicle! There is an air filter under the hood, on the outside and one INSIDE the vehicle called the CABIN AIR FILTER. This sucker is what actually cleans the air that circulates inside the vehicle! It's best to change them at least once per 6 months. I'm the handy type so, this time I took it upon myself to save hundreds of dollars and change it myself!

What I found alarmed me! REPULSIVE! I supposedly had my cabin air filter changed recently! My suggestion for all, do yourself a favor and change this out yourself! 

**Take my extra tip and WRITE YOUR NAME ON IT IN BLACK SHARPIE-this was the most simple process and I scored a deal at my local Advanced Auto Parts store for about $13 on my new filter (regularly around $50.)

Oh, why write your name on the filter? Because this way if you decide not to change it yourself the next time, you can request that the mechanic show you your old filter to make sure they are changing it out. If your name isn't on it....you know the truth!
